Acknowledged for his acerbic demeanour, Simon Cowell has come forth to disclose a hidden confrontation with his mental well-being. The famous talent show judge conceded that he has grappled with depression throughout the years, though he once regarded it as an inherent aspect of his character – a challenge to be managed privately. While not professing medical expertise, Cowell, 63, shared during his conversation on the "Men In Mind" podcast with Tom Bryant that he has progressively come to realise his situation and embarked on self-directed endeavours to improve his mental health. The pandemic, as Cowell described, acted as a significant amplifier of his mental struggles. The outbreak of COVID-19, he revealed, served as a true catalyst for his introspection. "In the very, very, very early stages, some friends of mine got really ill and I'm talking about really ill," he said on the podcast. Simon Baker’s stunning transformation

For many, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of Simon Baker is The Mentalist - a lead role that established him as one of American TV’s highest paid stars. For others, it’s Baker as the face of ANZ. Either way, it’s easy to put a face to the name, though even some of his most hardcore fans may be surprised by the actor’s latest transformation, stepping back from Hollywood to instead embrace his passions and focus on his “creative renaissance”. Simon’s latest project, Limbo, comes in the wake of his homegrown work with High Ground, Blaze, and adaptation of Tim Winton’s Breath - with some going so far as to call it Baker’s “career best”. In Limbo, an outback noir written and directed by award-winning Indigenous filmmaker Ivan Sen, Baker steps into the shoes of jaded police detective and former drug squad officer Travis Hurley. Hurley and his addictions are sent to a small community in the outback that’s surrounded by opal mines and filled with secrets - one of which is a two-decades old disappearance of an Indigenous woman that Hurley is there to investigate. And while some of this may feel familiar to Baker’s regular audiences, the film is a far cry from what they’ve perhaps come to expect from the likes of The Mentalist, and his role even more so, with one reviewer calling his performance “hypnotically sinister”. Sen - who took on the roles of cinematographer, composer, and editor as well - paints a black-and-white picture, and utilises known crime drama tropes without thrusting them into the faces of Limbo’s viewers. Audiences witness the film through Hurley’s perspective, learning of what the town’s community has endured through the eyes of an ‘outsider’. As Hurley learns more about the failures of investigative authorities in the town, so too do the audience, as well as the underlying messages on the value of Indigenous life. It’s not the first time Sen has explored this in his work, and combined with Baker’s ability to tell a story subtly, with quiet nuance and separation from stereotype, it appears a match made in movie heaven. As Sen told The New Daily, “he has got an amazing presence. “He can talk so well without actually having to open his mouth. Queen Camilla's damning "proof" in Simon Dorante-Day's case

A seemingly innocent comment made by Queen Camilla to the Archbishop of Canterbury about her relationship with King Charles has become new "proof" in Simon Dorante-Day's claims against the monarch. For several years, 57-year-old Simon from Queensland has claimed that he is the love child of King Charles and Queen Camilla. However, there have been several holes in his fact checking that have seen his claims been slammed. One major blindside in his story is the fact that he was born in 1966, and Charles and Camilla have famously dated their relationship back to when they were introduced by a friend in 1970. When Charles and Camilla first met, they were aged 21 and 22 respectively, and were not photographed publicly together until 1972. However, in a new documentary titled The Real Crown: Inside the House of Windsor, Dr George Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, said their relationship could go back further than initially believed. Dr Carey was the Archbishop of Canterbury from 1991 to 2002, and gave his blessing for Charles and Camilla to marry. In the explosive documentary, Dr Carey says Camilla confirmed that her relationship with Charles went “back to when they were teenagers”. The former Archbishop said he met Camilla at his son’s flat in Peckham, London, to discuss the possibility of marrying Charles, who was then the Prince of Wales. He explained they had met at the obscure location to avoid attracting public attention. “She walked through the front door and we had coffee together… we had an animated conversation and we talked about her relationship with Charles, going way back to when they were teenagers,” Dr Carey said in the TV interview. “And after that I decided there was no way I could treat her as anything other than a really nice human being who is deeply in love with Charles.” Dr Carey later gave his blessing for the pair to marry. Dorante-Day has long claimed that his own personal research has shown that Charles and Camilla first became close in 1965. He believes that months later, in the lead-up to when he was born, Camilla disappeared from Britain’s social scene for at least nine months, while Charles was sent to Australia. “I have been unable to find any photos of Camilla from the last months of 1965 or the beginning of 1966, when she would’ve been heavily pregnant with me,” Dorante-Day said. But I went off and I researched it." “When you go back and you look at the newspapers from the time and read the royal biographies, it was always stated that they first met in 1972 at a polo match in Windsor." “You know, sometimes the media got it wrong and said 1974 or things like that. For several years, Simon Dorante-Day has been claiming to be the love child of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla. Now, Simon's sister Amanda has spoken out about her adoptive brother's claims and how they devastated their family. Amanda said, "I was aghast when I read it and horrified at the lies, he was using as so-called evidence to support his fantastical claim." "I contacted several family members and friends who knew our family well and they were all as horrified, hurt and upset by his ridiculous claims, lies and allegations, as I was and still am." “It’s time for the world to read this”: Simon Dorante-Day shares last letter to the Queen

Simon Dorante-Day, the Queensland man who claims he is the secret son of King Charles III and Camilla, has shared the final piece of correspondence he sent to Queen Elizabeth II. The 56-year-old took to social media on Australia’s National Day of Mourning with a full version of the letter he sent to the late monarch last November. In it, he explains that he wrote to the Queen after approaching Dr Jeanette Young, Queensland’s Governor General, about his case. “I take the liberty of approaching you via the Governor’s Office however, given the position with which my family and I find ourselves, we feel this action is justified,” he writes. Simon Baker discusses his "difficult" relationship with his father

Simon Baker has shared emotional family secrets and details of the strained relationship with his father on the SBS hit series Who Do You Think You Are? The Aussie actor agreed to do the show after being approached for many years, “despite my mum, sister and kids saying ‘you should do it’.” Eventually he decided to take part in the show, saying “I thought, I’ll just see what kind of adventure it is and where it will all take me.” He discussed the early days of his life after he was born in Launceston in 1969 to his father Barry Baker and mother Elizabeth. “And soon after, my parents moved to the highlands of New Guinea, with two kids, to a remote area,” he says. In the show he summarises the family’s brief time there, saying “They went on this incredible adventure – and they didn’t come back together.” He explains how his young mother went on to remarry, but his father remained in his life under a different persona. “I didn’t know he was my dad. He was a family friend, Uncle Barry. I’ve struggled with that.” A reunion between the two finally took place when Baker was 18 years old, but in the meantime, the family moved to the northern NSW beach community of Lennox Head. “It was a small community and back then it was an idyllic place to live,” Baker says. “I felt a really strong sense of belonging in that place and still do. It was a phenomenal childhood in that regard – but the personal family life was difficult.” Before he appeared on Who Do You Think You Are?, Baker “looked back at my immediate family as this sort of mess,” he says. “But the truth is, families have many different forms and I think if you can look at your own past and the past of your ancestors with compassion, you can carry that forward with you with a little bit more wisdom.” He admitted that revealing the story of his parents was "challenging", and likened his difficult childhood to why he became an actor. “I’m pretty shy … But there is a kind of psychological reason in why I became an actor. The initial desire when I was young was about connecting with people, the idea of seeing someone in a story on a screen that you could identify with, and it could help you understand feelings inside you that you didn’t necessarily know how to articulate. Simon Baker has purchased a $6million home in Sydney’s Bondi Beach, a new report has claimed. The Australian actor allegedly bought the three-bedroom cottage after it was offered for sale by social commentator Ruth Ostrow. The property, which also contains three bathrooms, is set in lush tropical gardens and boasts ocean views. There is an idyllic patio area to entertain guests, while interiors take on a neutral colour palette with polished wooden floorboards, whitewashed walls, high ceilings and timber accents. The reported purchase comes after Simon and his ex-wife Rebecca Rigg, reportedly sold their three-bedroom home in Bronte, Sydney, for almost $17million. According to Domain in September, the former couple shocked property watchers with the lucrative sale, especially given they purchased the home for just $6.5million back in 2015. Boasting sweeping ocean views and located in one of Sydney's most sought-after suburbs - the former Baker residence offers the ultimate in coastal living. A number of images were listed by CoreLogic following the sale in 2015, with reports revealing the pair made no major improvements on the property after acquiring it. Aussie actor Simon Baker has had an awkward experience while being interviewed on Today Extra. The 52-year-old was asked by co-hosts David Campbell and Sylvia Jeffreys whether he’d ever watched the 2006 Oscar-nominated movie The Devil Wears Prada, which he played a starring role in. “I need you to set the record straight on this, that you have never watched the film,” Jeffreys <a rel="noopener" href="https://www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/morning-shows/simon-bakers-awkward-response-to-devil-wears-prada-question-on-today-extra/news-story/36e09e349ac0aa88802a6c2ba3fac991" target="_blank">began</a>. Paul Simon celebrates 80th birthday with new project

On his 80th birthday, Paul Simon has announced his latest project, which comes in the form of an audiobook. <a href="https://variety.com/2021/digital/news/paul-simon-new-music-audiobook-malcolm-gladwell-1235087435/">Variety reports</a> that the five-hour audiobook titled Miracle and Wonder: Conversations With Paul Simon, will be available on November 16th. The audiobook is named after a line in his track The Boy in the Bubble, and features a new song called Seven Psalms: his first release since 2018. It also features unreleased live versions of his classic songs including The Boxer and The Sound of Silence. Collaborating with Bruce Headlam and Malcolm Gladwell for Miracle and Wonder, Paul recorded over 30 hours of interviews over nine sessions for the audiobook. The autobiographical project documents Paul Simon’s upbringing in New York, the genesis of Simon and Garfunkel and the start of his solo career. The audiobook also features several cameos, including Sting, Jeff Tweedy, Herbie Hancock, Rosanne Cash, and more to chat about their experiences in the music industry together. “Over my career, I must have given hundreds of interviews on various projects, but speaking and collaborating with Malcolm on this was especially enjoyable,” Simon said in a statement. New evidence Prince Charles KNEW about Simon Dorante-Day

Simon Dorante-Day, the Queensland man claiming to be the secret son of Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, has shared new explosive evidence. Mr Dorante-Day has made global headlines after going public with his case and continues to share new evidence. “My grandmother, who had worked for the Queen, told me outright that I was Camilla and Charles’ son many times,” he told 7NEWS.com.au. The 55-year-old revealed his latest evidence, an email from Detective Inspector Dave Smith of the UK Metropolitan Police’s Royalty and Specialist Protection unit which could be crucial in assisting in his case. The inner letter addressed to the Prince I took by hand, unopened to the Princes’ correspondence team. “I hope this is suitable.” Mr Dorante-Day believes the email confirms that Prince Charles and Camilla are aware of his claims, despite refusing to publicly comment. “Making “No Comment” doesn’t make the issue go away, nor does it negate their responsibility for what we are enduring,” Mr Dorante-Day said. He said he released the email to show the effort he made to solve the matter privately before going public with his claims. “The depth to which I had already acted before this issue broke the media, or was even on Facebook or the TV, is just not clearly understood,” he said. “This evidence is from July 2015 when my letter was handed to Prince Charles’ private secretary by D.I.
